What Are You Truly Thankful For?

Let us know in the comments!

I have found that it is good to say and/or write down what you are thankful for as much as possible, not just on Thanksgiving. Writing down 3-5 things that you are thankful for each day can help one develop a more positive outlook on life.

Happy Thanksgiving.

I’m so, so thankful for The Maine. I cannot put into words how much I love them and how grateful I am for their band and their music. They’re one of the greatest things in my life and I just love how genuine and sincere the songs they create are. I saw them live for the first time in Austin, TX a couple weeks ago and I have to say that was the best night of my existence (and I didn’t even get to meet them! man when I do, that’ll be crazy..) I was right in front of John, second row and they were all just rocking out on stage, and I loved that I could jam out with them in the crowd. I’m so thankful that they share their music with the world and tour in the US I wish I could fly to every city they play in just to see them over and over again! Their lyrics are so wonderful and gosh everything about The Maine is so wonderful, I think I’ve repeated myself enough times; again, I’m thankful for The Maine :)

As cheesy as it is, I’m thankful for the Maine. Because of them, they provided me with a date to look forward to, the night they would come to my city. I’ve been sick for awhile now and the doctors have no answers yet. I’m coming unglued, but the promise of my boys coming here gave me something to hope for. With them, I’m extremely thankful for my family for sticking through with me during this and taking excellent care of me. I’m thankful that I’m able to get the care that I need. And I’m thankful that I’m even able to type all this out — and that means that I’m secure enough to have wifi, a good computer, and alive, I guess. Haha.

I’m thankful for so many things, but I never take the time to truly appreciate them.
First of all, I’m thankful for my family. My mother is one of the most amazing women I know, and I’m so glad I have her as such a strong role model. I’m also thankful for my three sisters. I love them all, even though we might fight a lot. They’re all really close to me and I’m glad to have them around all the time.
Second of all, I’m thankful for my friends. Those who have stayed with me through thick and thin, even though they think I’m insane most of the time. They really help keep me sane in my opinion.
Also, I’m thankful for my education. Even though I complain a lot about how much I hate college and how hard it is, it’s really remarkable that I’ve been given the opportunity to go to such an amazing school. On top of that, I’m extremely thankful for my job. I love having a job that I enjoy doing, and I’ve met some amazing community members and friends through the work I do.
Lastly, I’m thankful for all of the music that is there for me when it feels like nothing else is.

My family, wonderful and loving and caring and amazing. My friends, even those who act like idiots these days, they gave me my best memories. My life, in general: I have a house, food, water and I know I’m luckier than so many people. My ability to use irony, it protects me from the pain caused by stupid and thoughtless people. Music, and especially The Maine this year. It was kind of difficult with many questionings and changes and realisings and The Maine helped me to go through all this and gave me strenght and inspiration.
For the fate, which always gives me surprises and weird situations to deal with: It teaches me the life and it makes me grow up.
Thanks to give me the occasion to give my thanks: we’re not celebrating Thanksgiving in France but it’s great to focus on what you have sometimes !

For all the amazing people I’ve met, grown closer to and stayed friends with, they keep me sane when I’m probably driving them crazy.
My smile. I know its weird and I don’t love it because it perfect, pretty or whatever its because I know I’ve been through things that most people wouldn’t be able to handle and if I can still have a true smile on my face, I know I’m doing okay.
Music, the one thing I turn to when all else seems to be crumbling apart, the thing that I always seem to trust even when I’m doubting myself and the thing that brings a smile onto my face everyday because every song has its own memory.

Its funny while making this list I really thought about all that I was thankful for and I realised all of these things I love so much are because of the things that have happened to me. My mother committed suicide 2 and a half years ago and although I miss her every second of the day, I know I’ve become a stronger and it sounds so weird, happier person. When you get through things that make you cry and give you pain in every part of your body and after that you can still look back and be proud of all that you’ve been through, that’s when you know you can do anything.
