One of my best friends, Thai, has one of the greatest closets I will ever get the chance to play around in. She is one of the coolest people I know and she doesn't dress for anyone but herself which I love and which also makes for awesome outfits since she has such great natural style. Maybe she gets it from her mom (who is a fashion designer) but mostly her clothes really show her personality and how basically it's ever changing (just like her hair which our friend Curtis cut this week and we dyed!). So being the amazing friend she is, Thai let me make outfits from pieces in her closet, dress her up like a doll, and shoot some pictures (since I am a photography student after all) around her place, and this is what we came up with!
Outfit 1:
I love this jacket that Thai thrifted and then decorated herself. Basically she said she found random patches that she thought were cute and added them and some fabric and studs on. I think it turned out fantastic!
Also, another favorite piece of this outfit is her dress! It has pleats on the bottom and the straps are big gold chains! It has the sweetest scoop down the back too for hotter days. She got the dress at a Buffalo Exchange.
Outfit 2:
This dress is super cute and soft! It is made out of an old Metallica t-shirt. It has cut fringe on the bottom too.
These are Thai's worn in Doc Martens. We both talk about how we wear ours everywhere and how they get beat up but how cool they look that way.
Outfit 3:
I love this tank top of Thai's, its velvet (also from Buffalo Exchange) and this jacket which she always throws over everything. It was her moms from the 80s, she stole it from her closet a while ago though and now keeps it for herself.
When Thai isn't wearing her Doc Martens, she is wearing her spikey Jeffery Campbells! I am in love, plus she says they are super comfy which is always a plus.
Outfit 4:
Acid wash black jeans and a thrifted Jimi Hendrix shirt work amazing together! The straps around Thai's shoes she got in NY are super awesome.
Back detail of the print on the back of her Dads old denim shirt. It adds some nice color.
I had too much fun dressing up Thai and taking pictures. I hope to find more friends with killer closets to show you guys but I don't think I'll find another with a clothing workshop in there home! Take hints from these pieces and looks and play around with things from your own closet and see what you can come up! Have a good week!
