Today's guest blogger is Kristen Shaw. I met Kristen last year when she did some styling for a few of our artists. Kristen is an amazing hair sylist and artist. Kristen recently launched a crowd funding campaign for her project, Cabin 207. She is looking to create a space where she can create art and bring people in for styling.

8123 is all about the creatives! We hope you can take a second to read Kristen's blog entry and check out her new project.

Now introducing..... Kristen Shaw

My name is Kristen Shaw and I'm an editorial and celebrity hairstylist based in Los Angeles, CA. I work with everyone from musicians like Katy Perry, The Maine, Bruno Mars, & FUN, to actors such as Emma Watson, Gerard Butler, Olivia Munn, and Eliza Coupe! My job is the absolute best because I constantly have an insight into how other people live which allows me to bring out pieces of them to the outside in the way they wear their hair.

Lately, my favorite styles have been a cut like this one.

The 90's have been back for a bit now, but I really think when it comes to being a strong, beautiful woman, the cuts are becoming more and more fierce. Playing with the color on the ends really helps to bring out features you may have---beige tones with blue and grey hinted eyes, auburns for beautiful green eyes and golden hues for brown eyes to bring out the flecks of gold.

For you long-haired ladies, I'm loving a look that is effortless but stunning, like this one here in the photo.

Bringing back a little Kurt Cobain inspired hair mixed with Leonardo Dicaprio in Romeo and Juliet (who doesn't love him in that?) brings about a feeling of "cool," without being too cool.

For a new twist on an old twist, I will forever be loving this look. I did at a shoot for Elle's A To Zee section which is out this month. Here's a behind the scenes peek:

I've launched a fundraiser today for my new salon in downtown LA called Cabin 207! The fundraiser is run through Indiegogo and I will need to raise $15,250 by December 7, 2012. Please share it with anyone and everyone!
